At FPC Douglasville, the First Kids Ministry aims to create a family-friendly atmosphere. We have very welcoming and loving volunteers within our church who will make your kids feel comfortable upon arrival and during their time with us. Every child from the community who steps into this area is bound to make connections with other children their age and make friends.
During our program times, we have Bible study, a worship experience, play games, eat lots of snacks, and sometimes do community service projects for local organizations.
We provide a nursery-aged area for infants through 4-year-olds where they hear Bible stories, eat snacks, make crafts, dance to age-appropriate worship songs, and have free play.
We also have a Wednesday night program called the First Kid’s Club, where we have snacks, play games, make a craft, play outside, and hear a Bible story.
Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights help bring the kids together and form a strong connection that they will carry into the Student Ministry as they become teenagers.
Our mission for the First Kids Ministry is to learn about the Gospel of Jesus and his love for us. Once we learn about him, then we can love him wholly and love others. Once we experience his love for us and love others, then we can lead others to follow Christ, just like his disciples did.
- Through fun and engaging experiences, we learn about God’s Word, his character, and what he does for us, which compels us to fall in love with him.
- Once we discover God’s love, we can’t help but love others, which we demonstrate through acts of kindness.
- We apply what we’ve learned and lead as godly disciples through small ways in everyday life, to lay a foundation for bigger ways in the future.
Sunday Morning @ 9:30 a.m. Sunday School
Sunday School is where children of all ages get to experience God’s love and the joy of faith in Jesus. We do this through scripture reading, sensory experiences, videos, arts & crafts, and other hands-on learning activities tailored to each age group.
Sunday Morning @ 10:45 a.m. Power Hour
This hour is for children in Kindergarten – 5th grade, where they get to experience their own worship. Power Hour is where children will dive deeper into learning about God’s love for us and how we are to be His disciples. They will engage with a video lesson, a craft, games, and snacks.
Worship for Infants – PreK is available in our nursery in the First Kids area.
Wednesday Evenings @ 6:30 p.m. – 7:45 p.m. First Kids Club
First Kids Club is for children in Kindergarten-5th grade, who get to engage in a midweek worship experience. We will have snacks, games, service projects, baking nights, Bible lessons, and more. Nursery care is provided for infants to Pre-K.
