As you are aware, monthly we share the Lord's Supper together as a church family.
But, did you know that quarterly there are volunteers who make sure that our homebound members can participate in this important sacrament as well?
One of the responsibilities taken on by our Elders is to visit our homebound members every three months to serve them Communion.
Those who agree to serve are paired up with another Elder and assigned a homebound member. They are provided a Communion kit prepared by a volunteer and take it to the person ’s home to allow those unable to get to church to still experience this sacred ritual.
During the visit the Elders help the member feel more connected to our church family by talking to them about current events in the life of the church and most importantly praying with them.
There are many reasons that cause people to feel isolated when their health prevents them from leaving their house to participate in
the community.
Thanks to our Elders willing to serve on the Homebound Communion Team, some of our folks can still feel a part of our church community!
